The Wolves close out their October schedule with three games this week, beginning with a game at Iowa and their first trip to Des Moines since 2009; Chicago has posted a 3-3-0-0 record to start the 2013-14 season and is still looking to put together back-to-back wins this season.

The Wolves close out their October schedule with three games this week, beginning with a game at Iowa and their first trip to Des Moines since 2009; Chicago has posted a 3-3-0-0 record to start the 2013-14 season and is still looking to put together back-to-back wins this season.


Mark Mancari: Scored twice, including the game-winning overtime marker, in Chicago’s 3-2 win at Milwaukee on Saturday after missing Friday’s game due to the AHL veteran rule … Collected 4 goals and 5 points in his last three games, which included lighting the lamp in all three tilts … Paced the Rochester Americans with 22 goals, 39 assists, and 61 points last season while appearing in all 76 games … Ranked first in the AHL with a career-high 279 shots on goal in 2012-13 … Spent the 2011-12 campaign with the Wolves, where he paced Chicago with 30 goals and 58 points in 69 games

Tyler Shattock: Tallied a goal in both of the Wolves games last weekend, his first two points of the season … His markers in back-to-back games marks the second time in his AHL career he has scored goals in consecutive outings (Dec. 26-30, 2011) … Collected 4 goals, 8 assists, and 12 points in 62 AHL games with the Peoria Rivermen last season … Also registered 3 goals and 5 points in three ECHL tilts with Evansville last year

Corey Locke: Dished out two helpers in Chicago’s win over Milwaukee on Saturday, which marked the fourth time in five games he has notched at least one point … Amassed 5 points (2G, 3A) in five games with the Wolves this season … Began the 2012-13 campaign with TPS Turku of the Finnish Elite League, where he collected 12 assists and 17 points in 37 tilts before moving to Germany … Accrued 7 points (G, 6A) in 16 outings with Berlin of the German League

Jake Allen: Stopped 30 of 32 shots in regulation and overtime on Saturday in Milwaukee to record his first victory in five career starts at the Bradley Center … Has thwarted 136 of 144 shots in four starts this year (3-1-0) … Registered a 9-4-0 mark, 2.46 goals-against average, .905 save percentage and one shutout in 15 NHL games with St. Louis last year en route to being named to the 2013 NHL All-Rookie Team … Appeared in 35 AHL contests with the Peoria Rivermen last season, earning a 13-19-2 record, 2.89 goals-against average, and .904 save percentage


— Defenseman Evan Oberg had a hand in all three Chicago tallies and matched a career-high with three points (G, 2A) Friday night; his multiple-point outing Friday night was his first since March 16, 2012 when he dished out two helpers as a member of the Norfolk Admirals.

— Chicago’s overtime win at Milwaukee on Saturday marked its first road overtime victory since Dec. 26, 2011, at Peoria.

— Chicago has thwarted 19 of 20 power-play attempts over the past four games after allowing a man-advantage strike in each of its first two contests; the Wolves share sixth in the AHL with an 89.7% efficiency rating on the penalty kill this season (26 of 29).

— Defenseman Jani Hakanpaa paces the Wolves with a +4 plus/minus rating through six games this season while being a plus or even player in all six of his tilts.

— Twenty-seven players have dressed in at least one of Chicago’s first six tilts this season; the club used 47 different players during the 2012-13 campaign.

— The Wolves have found the back of the net on just two of their 27 power-play chances this season; Chicago’s 7.4 conversion rate on the man-advantage holds 29th in the AHL.


— The Wolves will take to the ice for warmups with special pink sticks on Sat., Oct. 26, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each stick will be autographed by several players and be available for a $150 donation, the cost of a mammogram for those who can’t afford one. Fans will be able to purchase a “Stick It To Breast Cancer” T-shirt for a $20 donation and autographed pink pucks for a $10 donation. — Wolves right wing Mark Mancari opened the game’s scoring and closed it with an overtime marker to give Chicago a 3-2 Amtrak Rivalry victory over the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center
— Right wing Tyler Shattock posted the other goal for Chicago
— Goaltender Jake Allen registered 30 saves

Friday, Oct. 18
Rockford 5, (at) Chicago 3
— The Wolves tied the score at three after falling into a three-goal deficit, but Rockford grabbed the winner with 1:31 left to win the first Illinois Lottery Cup game of the season at Allstate Arena
— Defenseman Evan Oberg (G, 2A) led the way with three points while forwards Alexandre Bolduc and Tyler Shattock also scored
— Goaltender Jake Allen stopped 35 of 39 shots
