When the Wolves score on the power play, it doesn’t just help them win games…it helps Girls in the Game.
Talk about a win-win.
The Wolves won 74 percent of the games in which they scored a power-play goal and, because the team scored 50 times on the man-advantage, Dynegy has written a check for $5,000 to Chicago Wolves Charities. That donation directly benefits Chicago-based Girls in the Game, which Dynegy selected as its Chicago Wolves Charities partner.
Girls in the Game delivers summer programs and support for more than 2,000 Chicago-area girls who might not otherwise have the opportunity to benefit from everything that sports, fitness, nutrition and health education provide.
“All girls deserve a chance to play! Girls in the Game welcomes young women with diverse backgrounds and abilities to participate in sports and health-based activities throughout Chicago,” said Sheree M. Petrone, Executive Vice President, Dynegy Energy Services. “Their commitment to the physical and emotional well-being of the girls provides the building blocks for the self-confidence needed to become successful women. Dynegy’s partnership with the Wolves and Girls in the Game was an easy choice to make.”
The Chicago Wolves and Dynegy formed a partnership for the 2014-15 season that featured branding on Allstate Arena’s LED boards during every Wolves power play. Dynegy also was featured on every Wolves television broadcast.
Dynegy plans to help Chicago Wolves Charities for seasons to come as Dynegy and the Wolves are extending their partnership for three more years.
