The Chicago Wolves announced Wednesday that forward Brock Trotter has signed a professional tryout contract with the club.

Last season, Trotter skated in 42 regular-season games – split between SaiPa Lappeenranta (33) and Karpat (9) – of the SM Liiga, Finland’s top professional hockey league, and tallied 31 points (12G, 19A).

The 30-year-old last played in the American Hockey League during the 2011-12 campaign when he spent the bulk of the year with the Portland Pirates. He appeared in 35 games and nabbed 31 points (12G, 19A). Trotter also skated in seven additional games split between the Hamilton Bulldogs and the St. John’s IceCaps. Trotter put up seven points (2G, 5A) in five games with Hamilton.

Through four seasons in the AHL, Trotter compiled 71 goals and 102 assists for 173 points in 214 contests. The Brandon, Manitoba, native also skated in 40 postseason games and collected 31 points (13G, 18A).

The Wolves conclude their week-long training camp with a set of preseason games against Central Division foes. At 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, the Wolves host in-state rival the Rockford IceHogs at Triphahn Arena in Hoffman Estates. Then on Saturday, Sept. 30, the Wolves travel to Milwaukee to face the Admirals at UM Panther Arena.
