Five Things to Know: 2017-18 Home Opener

The 2017 Central Division champion Chicago Wolves celebrate their 24th home opener on Saturday, Oct. 14, when the Ontario Reign make their inaugural appearance at Allstate Arena. Here’s what you need to know ahead of time:

1. The celebration kicks off at 3 p.m. with a free tailgate party in Allstate Arena’s West Lot. Parking is free if you arrive before 4 p.m. The event features complimentary food, games, face-painting, sign-making and live music.

2. If you are like us and need to have the 2017-18 Wolves schedule wherever you go, be sure you are one of the first 5,000 fans in the building when doors open at 6 p.m. to receive a Static Cling schedule, courtesy of Loyola Medicine.

3. Once inside, venture to the South Lobby to meet some adorable dogs waiting to find their fur-ever homes as part of the first Adopt-a-Dog Night, presented by Premier Veterinary Group, of the 2017-18 season!

4. Even if you can’t give a pup a home, you can still help the Animal Welfare League by donating gently used towels, household items, dog treats and more. Bring your items to Saturday’s game and drop them in the South Lobby.

5. Make sure you’re in your seats by 7 p.m. for the award-winning pregame show, which features fireworks and pyro custom-designed by Strictly FX — the same people whose wizardry can be seen during Super Bowl halftime shows and major concert tours all over the world.
