How it works

The Chicago Department for Animal Care and Control Animobile

Animobile

The Wolves also sponsor the Chicago Department of Animal Care and Control Animobile – an innovative mobile adoption unit and clinic. Learn more about the Wolves commitment to their canine brethren on this page.

The Animobile is a free and convenient mobile adoption unit, as well as a top-drawer, modern clinic staffed by veterinarians and adoption pros. It is air-conditioned and heated for year-round use, and can hold up to 20 to 25 dogs and cats at one time.

Provided by the Chicago Wolves and City of Chicago's Department of Animal Care & Control (ACC), the Animobile will be traveling around the city to help decrease the number of stray animals. Please join the Wolves in finding permanent homes for Chicago's homeless dogs.

"Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) is charged with the responsibility of rescuing tens of thousands of lost and homeless animals and animals suffering from cruelty, neglect and indifference. In additon, we are the only shelter in Chicago that has an "open door" policy--- meaning that we accept any animal at any time for any reason, 365 days per year."

– Animal Care and Control Mission Statement

The Chicago Wolves have been partners with ACC in helping homeless dogs for several years. The Wolves not only host Adopt-A-Dog Nights throughout the season, but Wolves Owner Don Levin purchased and donated the Animobile to ACC. To learn more about the ACC, visit their website at: www.Cityofchicago.Org/animalcarecontrol

Animal care and control statistics:

CACC rescues and provides veterinary care, food, water and shelter to over 24,000 animals every year. In 2008, of those 24,000 animals: 2,300 were adopted to homes, 4,300 were transferred to rescue groups and 1,300 were redeemed to their owners.

These numbers reflect the urgent need to find safe, loving homes for abandoned animals in our community.

For more information, contact the ACC at (312) 747-1392 or call the Wolves office at (847) 724-GOAL (-4625).

Cassie Lew
Dory was adopted at the 2/22/09 Wolves game.  She is amazing and I am so glad to have her around.  She was a little underweight when I first got her according to her vet but she is doing absolutely great now and I look forward to going home to her every single day.  She’s very protective of her “mommy” and just has an unlimited amount of love to give.  Thank you for supporting the adoption drive, it’s a wonderful service and I am thankful every day for my baby Dory. –Renee

Cassie Lew
I went to a hockey game and came home with her.  It wasn't a planned thing it just happened.  She is a golden mixed (not sure with what). We named her Cassie and of course as with all my pets had to have a middle name so a friend came up with Lew for one of my favorite hockey players, Grant Lewis.  So this is my new addition to the family - Cassie Lew Rabiak. She is doing great, adapting well and fitting right in! - Michelle Rabiak and family

Gracie
I adopted Gracie at this past Saturday (April 11th).  She’s been wonderful and we are already signed up for classes.  What a wonderful way to end a season.  We are already looking forward to next season. - Michelle Young
