Mama is a 5-year-old bundle of joy!!! She needs to be the only pet due to being animal reactive, but loves every human she meets. She loves tug of war, going on walks, and sprinting around the backyard. Every day is like Christmas when she visits her toy box, and she can entertain herself by throwing her toys around or chewing on a bone. She loves looking out the window and curling up on the couch for a nap. It’s always a party when you walk in the front
door, whether you’ve been gone for hours or just went out to get the mail; her tail is always wagging with joy. She is crate-trained and can also be trusted out on her own. She will be a great addition to your family!
She enjoys running around the background, rolling in the grass, and then one of her favorite pastimes – napping. While watering our flowers, we discovered she also loves playing in the water. She also continues to improve on ignoring other animals while out for walks.
Mama is a sweetheart who absolutely loves everyone she meets. Mama needs a home with no other pets due to being animal reactive. Mama would do best in a house with a yard and a privacy fence as she loves to run, explore, and roll around in the grass. Mama is a champ on the leash and has learned to ignore other animals while out on an adventure. She enjoys a good game of tug-of-war, chewing on a bone, and snuggling up on the couch with her humans. One of her favorite pastimes is staring out the window and watching everything going on. Mama is a bundle of joy in a small package that will bring constant smiles, laughter, and love to her family.
Meet Calvin and Hobbs: the perfect pair of senior pups seeking their forever home! With Calvin, the spirited 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix, and Hobbs, the toothless but cute, 12-year-old Chihuahua, each bursting with love and energy. Crate-trained, quirky, cuddly, and leash-savvy, they’re ready for walks in the park or cozy evenings at home (preferably under the blanket with you!) They are mostly potty trained when an established potty schedule is set in place, accidents seem to happen only when they stray from routine.
They are very food motivated, so further training seems doable! Both would be best suited in an adult-only home with a yard to run around in. Calvin and Hobbs thrive when each member of the household shares in their care.
While they can be possessive over “their person,” equal time and effort from everyone ensures they reciprocate the love tenfold. Ready to add endless joy and companionship to your life, Calvin and Hobbs are eagerly awaiting the chance to become cherished members of your family.
Are you looking for a friendly, playful, silly, cuddlebug? Then Ryder is your guy! You can tell he is looking for love from his human companions and enjoys spending time with you- whether that is playing a game of fetch, watching you eat, trying to convince you to give him a piece with his puppy dog eyes, or snuggling up with you watching TV. We have been Ryder’s long-term foster for a few months, and, we’ve been able to see his goofy personality shine through.
Ryder is very curious about the world around him and wants to take everything in- which can sometimes be too much! He definitely takes on the energy of those around him so in loud or chaotic situations he can become super energetic wanting to join in on the fun. So long as his family knows his social limits and allows him to take some breaks from fast-paced situations, Ryder will do just fine!
Sticking to a routine has been very helpful for Ryder’s transition into our home. It took him about 3 weeks to be comfortable in his foster home and then about 2 more to learn our routine. Now whenever I need to go to work, he goes into his kennel without needing to be asked because he knows that I need to leave and he isn’t able to come with. We have left him out of his kennel when we leave for a short amount of time (under an hour) and Ryder has just napped on the couch while we were away.
When it comes to going on walks, squirrels beware! Ryder definitely has a drive to chase after squirrels and bunnies. However, once they are safely up the tree or out of sight, he is good to keep moving on for his walks. Just be sure whoever is behind the leash can handle the pull of this 75lb dog! Aside from the squirrels, he loves going on walks. We have done a bit of jogging with him and it seems like he would fit in with someone who wants to do short jogs around the block. He can sometimes pull on the leash at the start of a walk because of excitement, but within a few minutes he is sniffing away happily on a relaxed leash. Ryder is definitely a food hound though- so be sure to be on the lookout in case there is food on the ground as you walk- he will absolutely try and gobble it up.
While we are unable to introduce Ryder to other dogs while in foster, he is definitely curious about them on walks! He does well if the other dog doesn’t start barking at him and can walk right on by the other side of the street without issue. If the other dog starts barking at him, then Ryder can get riled up and will need some help disengaging out of sight of the other dog. Any dog introductions to Ryder should be done slowly as his high and excited energy can be a lot for other dogs. You can tell he would love to go play with the other dogs- he can just be a bit of a bulldozer when he plays!
Ryder likes: walks, treats/food, meeting new people, getting pets, new toys, playing, giving you kisses, watching outside the window, going on car rides (he LOVES this!), being social, the mailman (ours gives him treats!), his kong and snuffle mat.
Ryder dislikes: squirrels/small animals, cats, extended loud noises, rough housing while playing, dogs who bark at him for no reason when we are out on walks.
Overall, Ryder has been a great foster dog. He truly loves his people and is looking for a family that will love him back. He plays fetch, brings the toy back to you, and knows some basic commands- sit, stay, kennel, down (we taught “down” to him in about 3 weeks since we got him- so he is trainable for more tricks). He is housetrained and also kennel-trained (although he will give you loving puppy dog eyes trying to convince you that he should be able to stay on the couch instead!). If your family would do well with a loveable goofball who loves to play and snuggle, then consider giving Ryder a chance! We are open to answering any questions you might have to see if he would be a good fit for you and your family!
James is a medium-sized, medium energy level American pit bull terrier mix that would thrive in a home with a backyard and a dog friend that likes to play. He is house-trained and crate-trained. James LOVES his humans and is the kind
of dog that you can bathe, trim nails, take food and toys away, etc, with zero issues once he is comfortable. James is nervous around new people, so he will bark and act like a tough guy, but he has been in training and is making strides. When in a home with a confident dog, James is much calmer about strangers coming into his space. James has had fairly minimal interactions with our cats but appears to want to play with him. James’ ideal home would be a quieter family with no small kids (I think he would knock them over or smack them with his tail), another playful dog (or five, James really loves other dogs) and a backyard.
Echo is such a pretty girl and a joy to be around. She is very sweet and loving—she loves cuddles as much as she enjoys playtime. She’s friendly to everyone she meets and always up for an adventure. Whether it’s going on long walks, playing fetch, or exploring the outdoors, Echo will be ready to join you!
She has an incredible sense of smell and enjoys putting it to good use. She enjoys sniffing around our backyard and engaging with lick pads and pots during mealtime, she definitely benefits from the mental stimulation they provide. Echo is also a very quick learner! While we’re not sure if she was potty trained when she first came to us as our foster, she mastered it within just a few short weeks. If she needs to be left alone, she doesn’t seem to mind sleeping in a comfy crate, and over time, I’m confident she would be fine left alone at home without one. She’s currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which is going well, with no side effects. This girl is resilient and full of love to give!
A special note about Echo: Don’t judge this sweet girl by her kennel presence. While she may seem a bit unsure or overly excited in the shelter environment, she was the perfect lady in our car and in our foster home. With a little additional leash training, Echo will make a great addition to a fur-ever family!
Meet Honey, a sweet, loyal girl who’s ready to form a deep, loving bond with her future forever family. Honey thrives on being close to her people—she follows us around the house and loves being part of the action. While she does experience some separation anxiety, she’s happiest when surrounded by her humans, so a home where someone works from home might be ideal for her.
Honey can be a little shy when meeting new people, but after a few minutes, she warms up and quickly becomes their new best friend. She’s done wonderfully with family friends who’ve watched her, showing off her loving and easygoing nature. Food-motivated and quick to learn, Honey loves to show off her tricks and is always up for a cuddle.
Her perfect day includes sunbathing on the couch in the morning, a relaxing walk in the afternoon, and plenty of playtime and snuggles at night. This happy girl’s tail is almost always wagging, and her classic “pitty smile” will melt your heart. Honey loves being the center of attention, soaking up all the love and affection she can get.
Although on walks, she’s reactive toward other dogs, she’s perfectly content with humans and doesn’t react to other small animals. Honey would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can be the sole focus of her family’s love and attention.
If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate, and playful companion, Honey might be your perfect match!
