"My Dog's Name is Homer. I adopted him at the March 29th Chicago Wolves game. I didn't expect to leave the game with a dog. It's been two years since my last dog passed away and when I saw Homer, he put a smile on my face a mile wide. He is the sweetest dog and just so adorable. I am so happy that he came home with me that night and that I was able to provide him a happy home. Plus I could not resist that face and that ear that just will not stay down. Thank you so much."

"We adopted Corey on October 14, 2006 at the Wolves game and couldn't be happier with him! We didn't expect to go home with a new pet, but we just couldn't resist his cute puppy face. Thanks so much Brian's Barking Buddies!"

"Thank you for having Adopt-A-Dog Night. We couldn’t imagine living without our “Little” 61 lbs. princess. Her name is Penelope and she is a Boxer/LabMix. We adopted her back in March of 2005, and haven’t regretted it for one day. She is the sweetest most loving dog we’ve ever had. She’s SO beautiful."

The Wolves have teamed up with the City of Chicago's Department of Animal Care and Control to help find loving families for dogs. To adopt a dog, please call the ACC at (312) 747-1392.

Next season, a group of dogs will be available for adoption during at least one regular-season home game each month.  Prospective owners are required to go through a screening process and pay a $65 fee, which includes spaying or neutering, all vaccinations, a Chicago pet license and a Wolves dog collar.

"Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) is charged with the responsibility of rescuing tens of thousands of lost and homeless animals and animals suffering from cruelty, neglect and indifference. In additon, we are the only shelter in Chicago that has an "open door" policy--- meaning that we accept any animal at any time for any reason, 365 days per year."
– Animal Care and Control Mission Statement

The Chicago Wolves have been partners with ACC in helping homeless dogs for several years. The Wolves not only host Adopt-A-Dog Nights throughout the season, but Wolves Owner Don Levin purchased and donated the Animobile to ACC. To learn more about the ACC, visit their website at: www.Cityofchicago.Org/animalcarecontrol

Animal care and control statistics:

CACC rescues and provides veterinary care, food, water and shelter to over 24,000 animals every year. In 2008, of those 24,000 animals: 2,300 were adopted to homes, 4,300 were transferred to rescue groups and 1,300 were redeemed to their owners.

These numbers reflect the urgent need to find safe, loving homes for abandoned animals in our community.

For more information, contact the ACC at (312) 747-1392 or call the Wolves office at (847) 724-GOAL (-4625).
