Team Up with #29!
Fans teamed up with #29 Brett Sterling this season to help out various Chicago Wolves Charities! For each of the 29 points he scored during the 2016-17 regular season, Brett donated $29 to Chicago Wolves Charities and many Wolves fans did, too!
Brett Sterling completed the 2016-17 season as the team’s No. 2 all-time goal-scorer with 178 markers. The four-time American Hockey League All-Star also ranks fifth on the franchise’s all-time points list with 337 in 363 games.
During his first stint with the Wolves, which ran from 2006-10, the Los Angeles native earned the Dudley (Red) Garrett Memorial Award as the AHL’s rookie of the year and the Willie Marshall Award as the league’s leading goal-scorer as he delivered a career-high 55 goals and 97 points during the 2006-07 campaign. In 2008, Sterling joined forces with Jason Krog and Darren Haydar on the team’s top line and stacked up 38 goals in 70 games to help the Wolves win the Calder Cup title – the organization’s fourth championship.
When Sterling rejoined the Wolves for the 2012-13 season, he was named the team’s AHL Man of the Year for his extensive volunteer work in the community. He also led the squad with 24 goals and ranked second with 45 points despite playing just 48 games.
Sterling earned the Wolves’ Man of the Year award again in 2016-17 for his devotion to several endeavors that benefited the community — highlighted by the team’s Wolves Wish program with KIND Snacks.
Big thanks to all those who have supported Brett!
