Defenseman Mark Matheson. The Chicago Wolves have re-signed defenseman Mark Matheson.

The 28-year-old blueliner ranked third among Wolves rear guards with 15 points (2G, 13A) in 60 games last season. He also ranked second among team defensemen and shared fifth overall on Chicago with a +9 plus/minus rating.

The Calgary, Alberta, native also appeared in five Calder Cup playoff tilts with the Wolves last year.

Overall, MATHESON has racked up 17 goals, 83 assists, and 100 points in 320 career AHL contests with the Wolves and Milwaukee Admirals, spanning six seasons (2006-12). He also skated in 31 Calder Cup playoff contests with Chicago and Milwaukee, collecting six points (G, 5A) and 14 penalty minutes.

The Chicago Wolves have re-signed forward Michael Davies.

DAVIES tallied 11 goals, 12 assists, and 23 points in 53 games with the Wolves last season during his second professional campaign. He also ranked second on the squad with a +13 plus/minus rating and was a plus or even rating in 46 of his 53 tilts.

The 25-year-old forward also skated in all five of Chicago’s 2012 Calder Cup playoff contests, posting one assist.

The Chesterfield, Mo., native has appeared in 102 games with the Wolves since turning pro in 2010 and has amassed 19 goals, 24 assists and 43 points. He also skated in eight games with the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators in 2010-11, recording seven points (2G, 5A).

DAVIES made his American Hockey League debut in three playoff games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers during the 2010 Calder Cup playoffs, following the conclusion of his senior campaign with the University of Wisconsin (WCHA). He registered 54 goals, 69 assists, 123 points, and 122 penalty minutes in 155 games with the Badgers spanning four seasons (2006-10).

The Vancouver Canucks have assigned defenseman Frank Corrado to the Chicago Wolves. In addition, the Wolves have signed goaltender Joe Cannata to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO).

CORRADO completed his third Ontario Hockey League season on March 28 when the Sudbury Wolves were swept, 4-games-to-0, by the Brampton Battalion in the first round of the OHL’s Eastern Conference Championship. He recorded 12 penalty minutes in four postseason games.

The 19-year-old defenseman ranked third among Sudbury blueliners with 23 assists and shared second among team rear guards with 26 points in 60 regular-season outings. He also paced Sudbury and shared 11th among OHL defensemen with a +26 plus/minus rating. Overall, the Vancouver Canucks sixth choice, 150th overall, in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft recorded 57 assists, 65 points, and 221 penalty minutes in 190 career OHL games with Sudbury spanning three seasons (2009-12).

CANNATA completed his senior campaign at Merrimack College (Hockey East) this year, posting a 17-12-7 record, and career-bests 2.18 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 36 contests. His 2.18 goals-against average ranked 14th in the NCAA, while his .925 save percentage held 11th nationally.

Overall, the 22-year-old netminder notched a 59-46-16 mark, 2.47 goals-against average,s and .915 save percentage in 122 career games with Merrimack College spanning four seasons (2008-12). The Wakefield, Mass., native’s 59 victories set the school record for most career wins by a goaltender.

The Chicago Wolves have traded forward Nathan Longpre to the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons in exchange for future considerations.

LONGPRE paced Wolves rookies with 8 goals and ranked second among team first-year pros with 18 points in 39 games this season.

The 23-year-old forward set a career-high and led the team with 42 points (14G, 28A) in 33 games as a senior with Robert Morris University (AHA) last year. The Peterborough, Ontario, native also made his professional debut in eight games with the Worcester Sharks, posting one assist and four penalty minutes.

The Vancouver Canucks have recalled right wing Mark Mancari from the Chicago Wolves.

MANCARI tallied the eventual game-winning goal, and added an assist, in the Wolves 3-1 win over Grand Rapids on Dec. 11. He has posted 6 goals and 10 points during a current six-game point streak.

The 26-year-old forward paces the Wolves and shares 13th in the American Hockey League with 10 goals and ranks second on the Wolves with 11 assists and 21 points in 24 games this year.

The London, Ontario, native ranked fifth in the AHL with a career-high 32 goals and shared 14th in the league with 64 points in 56 games with the Portland Pirates en route to being named to the 2011 AHL First All-Star Team last season. He also collected 8 points (G, 7A) in 20 National Hockey League contests with the Buffalo Sabres last year.
