University of Wisconsin Grad Davies Returns To Wolves

The Chicago Wolves have re-signed forward Michael Davies.

DAVIES appeared in 49 games with the Wolves as a rookie last season and shared second among Chicago’s first-year pro’s with 20 points (8G, 12A). He also skated in eight games with the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators, recording seven points (2G, 5A).

The Chesterfield, Mo., native made his American Hockey League debut in three playoff games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers during the 2010 Calder Cup playoffs, following the conclusion of his senior campaign with the University of Wisconsin (WCHA), when the Badgers were defeated in the 2010 NCAA National Championship game.

The 24-year-old forward set a career-high and shared sixth in the NCAA with 52 points (20G, 32A) in 41 games as a senior with Wisconsin in 2009-10, and ranked second on the Badgers with a career-best 20 goals and third with a career-most 32 assists. Overall, he amassed 54 goals, 69 assists, 123 points and 122 penalty minutes in 155 games with the Badgers, spanning four seasons (2006-10).

In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Wolves are now accepting deposits for 2011-12 season tickets and group outings. The club has announced dates for six home games, including the 18th home opener at the Allstate Arena on Saturday, October 15, at 7 p.m.
