Operations Intern

The Chicago Wolves Hockey Team is seeking an enthusiastic, high-energy individual to serve as an Operations Intern for the 2016-17 season. The position provides a great opportunity to learn about the operations of a professional sports team, allowing for involvement with all departments in the company. This is a full-time positon working in the Glenview office, at all home games, and various community events.

Duties:

  • Assist with fundraisers, sales, and other charitable endeavors at all home games
  • Facilitate and process customer orders for tickets and merchandise
  • Assist with coordinating mascot appearances and performing as the team’s mascot at community events
  • Assist with preparation and delivery of materials to be used in-arena
  • Maintain various Community Relations and Game Operations databases
  • Complete various office tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Community Relations Intern – Game-Day (Paid Position)

The Chicago Wolves are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible individual with a passion for fundraising and giving back to serve as the Community Relations Intern on game-days during the 2016-17 season. The position provides a great opportunity to interact with fans and to learn about the community relations of a professional sports team. This is also a great opportunity to build your resume within the sports industry. This is a part-time, paid position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate team’s various charitable initiatives including 50/50 raffle sales, Chuck-A-Puck sales, silent auctions, Scratch & Win sales, merchandise sales, and more.
  • Assist in executing game-day fundraising events including specialty jersey auctions and raffles, puck sales, and more.
  • Assist in the set-up and breakdown of the Chicago Wolves Charities table.
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer questions for fans as needed.
  • Work alongside and assist the Community Relations Sr. Coordinator as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Responsible and can be relied on to perform tasks assigned.
  • Motivated and comfortable interacting with fans.
  • Work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Helpful, enthusiastic, and friendly.
  • Available to work all home games (October through April and playoffs, as needed).

Game Operations
Game-Day Entertainment Crew – Spirit Team

The Chicago Wolves are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to serve as members of our Spirit Team for the 2016-17 season. The position provides a great opportunity to interact with fans and to learn about the operations of a professional sports team by working home games and events. It is also a great opportunity to get started in the sports industry and build your resume.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up, operate, and manage the team’s fan-interactive Kids Zone
  • Promote Skates Mates Kids Club registrations and help increase memberships
  • Facilitate team’s various charitable initiatives, including 50/50 raffle sales, Chuck-A-Puck sales, and charity drive collections
  • Assist with team’s mid-season and year-end merchandise sales
  • Assist with other non-game events (optional)

Graphic Designer Internship

The Chicago Wolves are hiring a full-time graphic designer intern.  He/she will work with the creative services department and assist in day-to-day maintenance of ChicagoWolves.com. Ideal candidates have some experience, a willingness to learn, strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conceptualize and produce creative for integrated campaigns on multiple platforms
  • Design for print, web, and video elements including but not limited to: advertising, marketing collateral, promotional materials, signage, web pages, ad banners, fan downloads, video broadcast and in-arena graphics.
  • Strong understanding in working with print vendors to provide press-ready artwork for production
  • Assist in maintaining digital photo archives
  • Collaborate with the creative and TV departments and other team members
  • Ability to create infographics
  • Assist in taking product shots of merchandise
  • Work home & away games
  • Represent the team in a positive and professional manner

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic/visual communications or a similar discipline.
  • Must be proficient with Mac, Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and Microsoft Office (Additional knowledge in After Effects or Cinema 4D is especially helpful)
  • Strong ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines
  • Familiarity with printing and production processes is necessary
  • Have a working knowledge or prior experience designing animation and motion graphics is a plus
  • Experience in green screen production and postproduction is a plus as well
  • Familiarity with WordPress structures and module positions is an added bonus
  • Interest in social fan engagement and integration

Ice Crew – Chicago Wolves (Glenview, IL)

The Chicago Wolves Professional Hockey Team seeks an enthusiastic, high-energy individuals to serve as members of the Chicago Wolves Ice Crew for the 2016-17 season.  The Ice Crew will be responsible for clearing snow from both goal creases and the bench area during all home games.

Qualifications:

  • Male or Female, 16 years of age or older

  • Expected to work most Wolves home games

Chicago Wolves Group Ticket Event Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

The Group Ticket Event Specialist is responsible for selling group packages, suites, party decks and hospitality rooms, conceiving new group initiatives, and building new group ticket programs-themed game days. The ideal candidate is an aggressive sales professional ready to grow an existing customer base and develop new business. This will be accomplished through diligent research and prospecting via phone calls, referrals, personal appointments, networking, and face-to-face meetings at Wolves events and games.  We are seeking candidates who are interested in sales success, not for candidates “looking to get into sports.”

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule face-to-face meetings with prospective clients: minimum four per week
  • Make a minimum 50 outbound sales calls per day in an effort to drive group revenue
  • Create and develop new group sales concepts to generate new revenue streams
  • Prospecting through involvement in local and area networking opportunities
  • Actively prospect new business through area businesses, organizations, and in-house database leads both in the office and out
  • Schedule prospect meetings at Wolves games and other events
  • Exceed weekly and monthly sales goals
  • Provide superior customer service to clients, existing ticket holders, prospects, and single-game customers
  • Track all contacts with customers via Wolves CRM software
  • Other Game Day duties as assigned
  • Required to help support and work all group initiatives

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver’s license and personal transportation
  • Strong organizational and even stronger time management skills
  • Excellent oral communication, customer service, and presentation skills
  • Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and be a team player while working well with other departments
  • High energy; ability to remain focused on sales goals and work independently
  • Positive attitude with an openness to learning
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Ability to move around the arena to visit clients during home games and to escort and show potential customers various seating options and other on-site facilities
  • Available to work flexible hours including holidays, evening, and weekends (Heavy from October-April)
  • Relationship selling experience a plus
  • Proven ability and passion for sales

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Prior experience in sales, promotions, marketing, hospitality, and/or events along with possessing great communication skills is mandatory, along with a proven record of sales achievements
  • Must have three professional references who will speak to your prior sales success and dynamic, competitive personality
