Mike Gordon - President of Business Operations

Mike Gordon begins his second season as president after joining the Wolves as vice president of partnerships in February 2009. During his tenure, the front office won the 2010 President's Award given annually to an AHL organization for excellence in all areas off the ice, and back-to-back Sponsorship Sales Department of the Year awards in 2010 and 2011.  Last season, both group ticket attendance and corporate sponsorship revenue reached organizational highs.

Prior to the Wolves, Gordon served as the vice president of sales for the Arena Football League's Chicago Rush, where he oversaw all of the team's corporate sponsorship initiatives. Under Gordon's direction, the Rush ranked among the top three teams in the AFL corporate sponsorship revenue for five consecutive years (2004 - 2008).  In addition to his sponsorship duties, he oversaw ticket sales during his first three seasons with an increase of 56% and the organization's first sell-out.  During his tenure, the Rush won the AFL Commissioner's award for Organization of the Year three times.

 

The 43-year-old Gordon also spent seven years in the athletic department at DePaul University, most recently as Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations, where he oversaw the licensing, marketing, ticket sales, and sponsorships for the athletic department. In addition to his departmental duties, he taught undergraduate classes in sports marketing. 

A graduate of Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., Gordon received his MBA in Marketing at DePaul University. He also performed consulting work for the Chicago Blackhawks, the 1994 World Cup and several minor league baseball teams.

 

Gordon and his wife, Susan, have a daughter, Katie, and a son, Alex, and reside in Arlington Heights, where he also serves as President of the Arlington Heights Park District Foundation.

 

Courtney Mahoney - Senior Vice President of Operations

Courtney Mahoney enters her 15th season with the Wolves and first as the senior vice president of operations.

 

The Western Springs native and graduate of Lyons Township High School joined the Wolves community relations department in 1996 and moved into the leadership role before the 1997-98 season.  She assumed control of game operations prior to the 2000-01 season before being named director of operations in 2004.

 

The 36-year-old Mahoney, who was awarded the AHL’s Ken McKenzie award in 2009 for outstanding promotion of the team, has spearheaded some of the club’s most successful community endeavors, including the Read to Succeed and Adopt-A-Dog programs. Under her supervision, more than $4 million has been raised for Chicago Wolves charities.

 

A 1996 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Mahoney resides in Chicago.

Curt Gruber - Vice President of Business Development

Curt Gruber joined the Wolves in April of 2009 as the vice president of business development. The 45-year-old most recently served as the vice president of marketing and business development for the Arena Football League's Chicago Rush. Prior to joining the Rush, Gruber served as a senior marketing manager for Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company and as director of global brand development at Jim Beam Brands Company. The Park Ridge native is a graduate of Illinois State University and received an M.B.A. from the Thunderbird School of Global Management is the faculty director of the Master of Sports Administration program at Northwestern University. Gruber, his wife, and two children, reside in the northwest suburbs.

 

Eric Zavilla - Executive Director of Ticket Sales and Services

Eric Zavilla enters his 13th season with the Wolves and fifth as the team's Executive Director of Ticket Sales and Services. The 37-year-old Palatine native joined the club as a Ticket Sales Representative in 1999 and also held the titles of Account Executive, Senior Account Executive, Season Ticket Sales Manager and Director of Season Ticket Sales before assuming his current role in September of 2007. A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Zavilla first entered the hockey business as an intern with the International Hockey League's Kansas City Blades while in college. Zavilla and his family reside in the Northwest Suburbs.

Julie Seyller enters her eighth season with the Wolves and fourth as senior sales manager.  The 31-year-old native of Buffalo Grove joined the team in 2004 as an account executive and also served as a senior account executive before assuming her current role.  Prior to joining the Wolves, Seyller held positions at Sprint and interned with the Peoria Rivermen and Peoria Pirates.  She received her bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and M.B.A. from Illinois State University. Seyller and her family reside in Lindenhurst.

Jackie Schroeder enters her eighth season with the Wolves and third as Director, Ticket Sales and Services. The 29-year-old native of Bloomingdale joined the organization as a ticket sales and services assistant in September 2004, and served as ticket sales and services coordinator and ticket sales and services manager before assuming her current title in October 2009. Prior to joining the Wolves, the Ball State University graduate worked in the stadium/event operations of the Peoria Sports Complex in Arizona and spent time in the game operations department of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Schroeder and her husband, Nate, have a daughter, Zoey, and reside in the Northwest Suburbs.

Kevin Dooley joined the Wolves in January 2011 as e-Business Specialist.    The University of Dayton graduate most recently served as corporate partnerships manager for the Lake County Fielders baseball team.  He also has worked as a consultant for the 2016 Olympic Bid, as an account executive for the Chicago Rush and as business development analyst for Northshore University Health System.  Dooley resides in Deerfield.

Jon Sata joined the Wolves in September 2010 as vice president of partnerships.  The Purdue graduate came to the Wolves after one season as sponsorship executive for the Professional Bull Riders (PBR).  Before that, the 33-year-old worked as director of corporate partnerships for NASCAR's Phoenix International Raceway and director of national sales/regional sales manager for Live Nation Motor Sports (currently Feld Entertainment.) Sata and his wife, Sarah, reside in Elmhurst with their son, Justin, and daughter, Sonya.

 

Nicole Pawlak - Partnerships Client Service Manager

Nicole Pawlak joined the Wolves in August 2011 as client services manager. Prior to joining the Wolves, the Chicago native spent two years in advertising sales for MTV Networks in New York City and worked game day promotions with the National Hockey League's New York Rangers. A graduate of Iona College, the 28-year-old Pawlak also received her MBA in both Marketing & Management with an certificate in International Business from Iona. She currently resides in Chicago.

Matt Ryan enters his fifth season with the Wolves and second as senior partnership sales executive. The 26-year-old joined the organization in September, 2007, as a sponsorship sales intern and served as a sponsorship sales executive from 2008 to September, 2010, when he was named to his current position. Prior to joining the Wolves, the Golf native served as a management and operations intern for the Chicago Machine of Major League Lacrosse and was a trader's assistant at the Chicago Board of Trade. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Ryan received his Master's degree in Sports Administration with a specialization sports marketing from Northwestern University.  He currently resides in Chicago.

Community Relations and Game Operations

Bryan Campion enters his 13th season with the Wolves and fourth as the director of operations.

 

The 38-year-old joined the Wolves as a game day staff member in December of 1998 and became a full-time staff member in March, 1999.

 

Prior to joining the Wolves, the DePauw University graduate was the owner and operator of Tee to Green Golf in Deerfield from 1995 to 1999, and interned with the Indianapolis ICE of the now defunct International Hockey League.

 

A native of Palatine, Campion and his wife, Lindsey, reside in the Northwest suburbs.

Lindsey Willhite joined the Wolves in October 2011 as director of public relations. The 43-year-old spent the previous 22 years as a Daily Herald sports writer, where he covered everything from high school sports to the pros. He focused on college football and basketball, but helped with the paper's coverage of the Bears, the 2005 World Series champion White Sox and the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks. The Champaign native was graduated from Illinois State University, where he earned a B.S. degree in Finance. Willhite, his wife Christie and their children --- Kellie, Katie and Michael -- live in Naperville.

Christina Moritz enters her fourth season with the Wolves as a graphic designer and second as manager of creative services. Prior to joining the Wolves, the Canton, Ohio, native, worked as a merchandise intern with the Akron Aeros of the Eastern Baseball League and as a graphic designer at the Ullman Design Studio.  A graduate of Marietta College, where she also worked as a designer in the Office of College Relations, the 24-year-old Moritz resides in Chicago.

 

Imran Javed - Graphic Designer

Imran Javed enters his sixth season with the Wolves after joining the team in May of 2005.  The 34-year-old previously served as a package and print designer for Adam's Apple and Republic Tobacco.  The Chicago native graduated from Pratt Institute in 1998 with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Design. Javed and his fiancée, Jessie, reside in Chicago.

 

Morgan Wojtkowski - Graphic Designer

WojtkowskiMorgan Wojtkowski joined the Wolves in October 2010 as a creative services intern and was promoted to graphic designer in June 2011. The Pittsfield, Mass., native, is a 2010 graduate of Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg. Wojtkowski, 22, currently resides in South Elgin.

Florent Zumberi joined the Wolves in September 2010 as creative intern. Prior to joining the Wolves, the 24-year-old worked in Advertising and Production for the Daily Egyptian Newspaper.  Zumberi is a 2008 graduate of Southern Illinois University and resides in Rolling Meadows.

 

Ross Dettman - Team Photographer

Ross Dettman enters his 17th season as the Wolves as team photographer. The University of Illinois-Chicago graduate began a photographic career as a student covering the UIC Flames hockey team.  The 48-year-old has covered eight Super Bowls, six Stanley Cup Finals, has had more than 40 spreads in ESPN The Magazine and won an Emmy from ESPN.com for a visual piece titled “No Love Lost.”  Dettman resides in the Western suburbs.

 

Television Department

Ron Storto - Executive Television Producer

Ron Storto is currently in his fourth season with the Wolves and third as the organization's executive television producer.  Under his current role, the River Forest native oversees the team's television package on Comcast Cable, which broadcasts every regular-season game - including all 40 home contests - as well as every playoff game live.

 

Prior to joining the Wolves, Storto spent 12 years on Chicago White Sox and Chicago Blackhawks broadcasts working his way up from graphics to executive producer along the way.  A graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School and Columbia College in Chicago, Storto first joined the industry with SportsVision in 1986 and stayed with the station during its transition to SportsChannel, Fox Sports Channel, Fox SportsNet and Comcast.

 

The 46-year-old Storto resides in Chicago.

 

Sarah M. Draheim - TV Production Manager

Sarah Draheim joined the Wolves in January 2008 as the Community Relations Assistant before assuming her current position as TV production manager in May 2009. Prior to joining the Wolves, the University of Colorado graduate worked as a sports clerk at the Denver Rocky Mountain News, a sports intern at CBS-4 Denver and a news clerk/online news assistant at the Iowa City Press-Citizen.  The 29-year-old resides in Chicago.

 

Charlie Parkinson - Associate TV Producer

Charlie Parkinson joined the Wolves in September 2010 as television intern. Prior to joining the Wolves, the 23-year-old worked as a grip on McDonald’s and Kellogg’s commercials for Silent Partner Films and was a camera operator for Streamline Football Scouting. Parkinson is a 2008 graduate of Full Sail University and resides in Wheeling.
