Chicago Wolves center Pat Cannone will appear at Forest Park Public Library on Wednesday, Nov. 20, to kick off the 19th season of the team’s “Read to Succeed” program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Inc.
Cannone, a Miami University (Ohio) graduate, starts his program at 4 p.m. at 7555 Jackson Blvd. in Forest Park.
The Read to Succeed program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. Cannone will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in his life as a professional athlete.
Participants can win prizes — including Wolves hats, pennants, and tickets to upcoming games — for setting and achieving reading goals.
Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making appearances at select libraries throughout the Chicago area.
