Chicago Wolves right wing MIKE DAVIES will appear at the Naper Boulevard Library in Naperville on Tuesday, Dec. 3, as part of the 19th season of the “Read to Succeed” program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Call 811 Before You Dig.
Davies, a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate, will start his program at 4 p.m. at 2035 Naper Boulevard in Naperville.
The “Read to Succeed” program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. Davies will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in his life as a professional athlete.
Participants can win prizes — including Wolves hats, beanies, and tickets to upcoming games — for setting and achieving reading goals.
Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making appearances at select libraries throughout the Chicago area.
