Rattie, Harper, and Fairchild, visit area libraries on Dec. 4

Chicago Wolves right wings Ty Rattie and Shane Harper and defenseman Cade Fairchild will appear at Chicago-area libraries on Wednesday, Dec. 4, as part of the 19th season of the “Read to Succeed” program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Call 811 Before You Dig.

Rattie will appear at the Lisle Library District. He starts his program at 4:30 p.m. at 777 Front Street in Lisle.

Fairchild, an Academic All-Big Ten honoree at the University of Minnesota, will start his program at 6:30 p.m. at the Fox River Grove Public Library, located at 407 Lincoln Ave.

Harper will appear at the Acorn Public Library District. His program will start at 7 p.m. at 15624 S. Central Ave. in Oak Forest.

The “Read to Succeed” program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. The players will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in their lives as professional athletes.

Participants can win prizes — including Wolves hats, beanies, and tickets to upcoming games — for setting and achieving reading goals.

Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making appearances at select libraries throughout the Chicago area.
