January 9, 2014

Chicago Wolves goaltender Jake Allen has been selected to the 20-man roster for the 2014 American Hockey League All-Star Classic presented by Assante Wealth Management. The team of AHL All-Stars will compete against Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League on Feb. 11-12 in St. John’s, N.L.

The 23-year-old netminder has appeared in 23 games for the Wolves this season, posting a 14-7-2 record, 2.17 goals-against average, and .922 save percentage. He ranks fourth in the league in goals-against average and stands among the top 10 in save percentage, wins, shutouts, and minutes played.

This will be the second AHL All-Star Game appearance for ALLEN, who was named to the Western Conference Team in 2011 as a rookie and allowed four goals on 12 shots during 20 minutes of action.

The Fredericton, N.B., native has amassed a 65-65-9 record, 2.66 goals-against average, and 11 shutouts in 143 career AHL games spanning four seasons with Chicago and Peoria. ALLEN also posted a 9-4-0 record, 2.46 goals-against average, and one shutout in 15 NHL games with St. Louis last season, garnering a selection to the NHL All-Rookie Team.

The Wolves face off at Milwaukee at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Amtrak Rivalry series. Chicago returns to Allstate Arena at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, against Toronto. For tickets, call 1-800-THE-WOLVES or visit
