Wolves Weekly Press Notes for Jan. 20

The Wolves begin a five-game road trip in Utica on Tuesday and won’t return to the Allstate Arena until Feb. 1; Chicago, which also travels to Toronto, Hamilton, Rochester, and Grand Rapids during the trek, has accumulated a 10-7-1-2 mark on the road this season.

Ty Rattie: Was the only Chicago skater to post a point in all three of the team’s games last week, which included the game-winning goal against Rockford on Saturday … Accrued 3 points (G, 2A) in his last three contests after collecting 3 points (3G) in his previous nine tilts … Paces Chicago and shares fifth among AHL rookies with 13 markers despite bagging just two goals in his last 11 contests … Ranks third on the Wolves with 22 points (13G, 9A) in 38 games this season

Cade Fairchild: Was one of three Chicago players to notch multiple points last week, which included scoring his first goal of the season — and first AHL tally since April 15, 2012 — on Friday night … Accumulated 11 assists and 12 points during a nine-game home point-streak and has registered at least one point in 10 of his 11 games played at the Allstate Arena … Paces team rear guards and holds third overall on Chicago with 16 assists and holds first among club defensemen with 17 points in 24 outings this year

Jake Allen: Appeared in all three Chicago outings last week, stopped 75 of 82 shots in helping the team earn three of six points in the standings … Has lost just once in regulation dating back to Dec. 13, a span of eight starts … Accumulated a 13-7-1 mark, 1.95 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 21 games from Nov. 1 to Jan. 19 after opening the season 3-2-1 with a 2.79 goals-against average in six contests in October … Named to the 20-man roster AHL All-Star Roster on Jan. 8, the second AHL All-Star Selection of his four-year pro career (2011) … Shares fifth in the AHL with 16 wins, fourth in the circuit with a 2.14 goals-against average, and sixth in the league with a .923 save percentage in 27 games this season (16-9-2)

WOLF TRACKS

— Chicago has won nine of its last 13 tilts (9-2-2-0) and has dropped two regulation contests since Dec. 15, which were both 3-1 defeats at Western Conference-leading Grand Rapids; the Wolves have registered a 11-5-2-0 mark and .667 winning percentage since the start of December to move into second place in the Midwest Division with 46 points through 39 games (21-14-2-2).

— Left wing Sergey Andronov became the third Chicago skater to reach double digit in goals Friday night, which snapped a two-game scoreless streak; the 24-year-old winger has amassed 6 goals and 7 points in his last eight tilts, which included 5 goals and 6 points during a career-high four-game point streak from Dec. 27 to Jan. 5.

— Chicago has been short-handed 22 times in its last four games after being down a man just 21 times in its previous eight contests; the Wolves, who were perfect on the power-play twice in three games last week, rank seventh in the AHL with a 84.4 efficiency rating on the penalty kill this season (152 of 180).

— The Wolves have bagged 7 power-play goals in five games against Rockford this year, but have scored just 14 man-advantage markers in their other 34 games played this season; Chicago has cashed in on 21 of its 181 power-play chances this season.

— The Wolves earned their eighth home win in nine tries by defeating the Rockford IceHogs 2-1 in an Illinois Lottery Cup contest at the Allstate Arena
— Forwards Nathan Longpre and Ty Rattie posted markers for Chicago
— Goaltender Jake Allen thwarted 23 of 24 shots

— The Wolves knotted the score at two in the third period, but couldn’t grab the game-winner and dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the Toronto Marlies at the Allstate Arena
— Defenseman Cade Fairchild and left wing Sergey Andronov bagged power-play tallies for Chicago
— Goaltender Jake Allen stopped 22 of 25 shots in regulation and overtime
