Wolves don unique St. Patrick’s Day Jerseys for charity

The Chicago Wolves are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by wearing exclusive jerseys, presented by Jewel-Osco, to raise money for Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago and Chicago Wolves Charities.

The Wolves will wear the specialty jerseys for their home games on Saturday, March 15, Sunday, March 16, and Friday, March 21. The jerseys, designed by Christina Moritz, will be available via auction and raffle as part of the team’s 18th St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser.

Easter Seals, the primary beneficiary, is dedicated to helping people with disabilities and special needs — and their families — live better lives. The Wolves have raised more than $550,000 for Chicago-area charities, including Easter Seals, with their St. Patrick’s Day jerseys.

“I think Christina has done a wonderful job redesigning this green jersey,” said COURTNEY MAHONEY, the Wolves’ senior vice president of operations. “I love the colors this year because they’re the colors of the Irish flag. I’m always impressed with the details and nuances she puts into it. I know the fans will be as excited as we are.”

aucoin-stpatsCenter Keith AucoinCenter Keith Aucoin, who ranks as the American Hockey League’s No. 7 all-time scorer with 846 points and has earned one Stanley Cup ring and two Calder Cup rings during his illustrious career, has taken the lead on behalf of Easter Seals. The Chelmsford, Mass., resident will wear a different jersey in each of the three games and they’ll be available via raffle, silent auction, and online auction.

Defensemen Joel Edmundson and Cade Fairchild and assistant coach SCOTT ALLEN will join AUCOIN in having their jerseys available through in-game raffles. Tickets are $5 apiece or five for $20. The jersey worn by right wing Shane Harper will be available via blind auction. Fans can win all of the other limited-edition jerseys during the silent auction that begins on March 15 in Allstate Arena’s Southeast Lobby and closes at the end of the second intermission on March 21.

The Wolves also are conducting an Autism Awareness Drive during these three games. The team encourages fans to bring sensory items such as Slinkies, Silly Putty, Koosh Balls and stress balls that will be donated to the Autism Society of Illinois.
