WHAT’S AT STAKE

The Wolves can close out this best-of-five series with a win tonight. Top-seeded Texas and third-seeded Toronto already have advanced to the Western Conference semifinals while fourth-seeded Grand Rapids holds a 2-1 lead over fifth-seeded Abbotsford. If the Wolves win their series, then they will face Toronto in the next round. If Rochester wins today and in Game 5 on Sunday, then it will face Texas in the next round.

NUMBERS TO KNOW

  • Jake Allen recorded his eighth shutout of the 2013-14 season Thursday night, which sets a Wolves record. Kari Lehtonen posted five regular-season whitewashes and two playoff shutouts in 2004-05.
  • Adam Cracknell posted two goals for the third time this season and notched the 15th multiple-goal game of his career. The 28-year-old hadn’t scored two goals in a postseason game since 2008 while playing for the ECHL’s Las Vegas Wranglers.
  • The Wolves allowed Rochester just 18 shots Thursday, which is the lowest total surrendered by Chicago this season and tied for the fourth-fewest of any Wolves playoff game.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Regner Brent

Wolves defenseman Brent Regner

Regner missed 13 of the final 16 regular-season games, but has made up for lost time in the playoffs. He handed out two assists in Game 3, which gives him 5 points in the series. Not only does that tie him with Dimitrij Jaskin for the series lead, it’s the first time in Regner’s five-year professional career he has posted five points in a three-game span.

Nick DeslauriersAmericans left wing Nick Deslauriers

The 23-year-old was traded by the Los Angeles Kings to the Buffalo Sabres on March 5. At the time of the trade, Deslauriers led the AHL’s Manchester Monarchs with 18 goals. Deslauriers joined the Sabres for his NHL debut and posted one goal in 17 games. He moved to Rochester for the playoffs and has notched one goal in three games.
