Wolves add four players prior to Game 1 of Western Conference Semifinals

The Chicago Wolves announced Friday that right wing Jacob Doty has been reassigned and left wing Ryan Tesink has been assigned to the team, defenseman Thomas Vannelli has signed an amateur tryout contract (ATO) and forward Zach Pochiro has signed a professional tryout contract (PTO).

The quartet joined the Wolves hours before their American Hockey League Western Conference Semifinals opener against the Toronto Marlies on Friday at Allstate Arena.

DOTY played for the Wolves during the preseason before signing a contract with the National Hockey League’s St. Louis Blues. The 20-year-old spent the 2013-14 season with Medicine Hat (WHL) and posted 10 goals with 13 assists in 68 regular-season games. He also contributed 1 goal and 2 assists in 17 playoff games for the Tigers.

TESINK, who turns 21 on May 21, spent this season with Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL) and delivered 13 goals and 23 assists in 47 regular-season games before providing 7 goals and 6 assists in 14 postseason games.

The 19-year-old VANNELLI was DOTY’s teammate at Medicine Hat and notched 14 goals and 27 assists in 60 games. St. Louis’ second-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft also had 2 goals and 6 assists in 18 playoff appearances.

POCHIRO starts his second PTO with the Wolves as he spent April 15-28 with the team. Prior to joining the Wolves, the 20-year-old posted 27 goals and 39 assists in 66 games for the Prince Edward Cougars (WHL) and 2 assists in 9 games for Kalamazoo (ECHL).

The Chicago and Toronto Marlies open their best-of-seven Western Conference Semifinals tonight at Allstate Arena. The Wolves also host Game 2 at 7 p.m. Saturday and, if necessary, Game 6 on Monday, May 19, and Game 7 on Wednesday, May 21.
