August 21, 2014

The Chicago Wolves announced Thursday that they have signed goaltender Mike Clemente to a contract for the 2014-15 season.

CLEMENTE split time between Springfield in the AHL and Evansville in the ECHL last season. He posted a 1-0-1 record, 2.88 goals-against average, and .893 save percentage in two games with Springfield and a 20-19-4 record, 2.84 goals-against average, and .904 save percentage in 44 games with Evansville. He ranked among the top 10 ECHL netminders for wins, minutes, and saves.

The 24-year-old has compiled a 2-1-1 record, 2.25 goals-against average, and .920 save percentage in eight career AHL appearances, all with Springfield, since turning pro in 2012. He also added one season in the CHL with Missouri, producing a 25-19-1 record, 3.31 goals-against average, and .892 save percentage in 45 games.

Before joining the professional ranks, the Great Falls, Va. native suited up for Brown University for four seasons. While there, he appeared in 107 games with a 32-54-14 record, 3.03 goals-against average, and .908 save percentage, finishing second all-time in saves and first in starts for the program.

In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
