The Chicago Wolves signed goaltender Cody Reichard to a PTO (professional tryout contract) on Wednesday as rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington was recalled on emergency conditions by St. Louis (NHL).
The 21-year-old BINNINGTON has posted a 6-2-1 record in 9 games for the Wolves this season. He ranks third in the American Hockey League in goals-against average (1.89), which is tops among first-year goaltenders, and 12th in save percentage (.925).
REICHARD spent the first six weeks of the 2014-15 season with the ECHL’s Indy Fuel, where he contributed a 3-4-1 record, 2.66 GAA and .907 save percentage in 9 games. He appeared in two AHL games for the Iowa Wild last season — both against the Wolves — and notched a 1-1-0 record with a 3.36 GAA and .913 save percentage. In nine career AHL appearances, the 27-year-old owns a 4-2-1 mark with a 2.67 GAA and .911 save percentage.
