Wolves recall Longpre from Kalamazoo

The Chicago Wolves announced Wednesday that they have recalled left wing Nathan Longpre from loan to Kalamazoo (ECHL). The forward will meet the team in Grand Rapids ahead of tonight’s 6 p.m. tilt against the Griffins.

LONGPRE ranks as the second-leading scorer on the K-Wings with 26 points (9G, 17A) in 32 games. The 26-year-old has spent parts of the last three years with the Wolves and was held scoreless in one contest with the club this season, a Dec. 17 loss to Adirondack. He has accrued 50 points (18G, 32A) in 159 games during his tenure with the team.

The Peterborough, Ontario, native has totaled 57 points (23G, 34A) in 191 career games in the American Hockey League with Worcester (2010-11), Springfield (2011-12), Peoria (2012-13), and Chicago (2011-present). He turned pro in 2010-11 following a four-year collegiate career at Robert Morris University.

The Wolves continue their five-game road trip tonight with a 6 p.m. game at Grand Rapids before traveling to Texas for tilts against the Stars on Friday and Saturday. They return to Allstate Arena on Saturday, Jan. 31, to face the IceHogs and wear their Fight Against Cancer specialty jerseys for the final time.
