Defensemen Lindbohm and Chelios on the move

The Chicago Wolves announced Wednesday that defenseman Petteri Lindbohm has been recalled from loan and that defenseman Jake Chelios has been loaned to Kalamazoo (ECHL).

The 21-year-old LINDBOHM will rejoin St. Louis (NHL) for another stint after appearing in nine games for the Blues this season, recording one assist. He ranks as the second-leading scorer among Wolves defensemen and top point-producing rookie on the team with 17 points (6G, 11A) in 41 games. He ranks third among team blueliners with a +5 plus/minus rating and first with 56 penalty minutes and 96 shots on goal.

The Helsinki native is in his first year in the North American pro ranks after two seasons with Assat and Jokerit in the SM-liiga. He was selected by St. Louis with its seventh selection, 176th overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The 23-year-old CHELIOS will make his first appearance in the ECHL this season and is expected to dress as the K-Wings host Gwinnett tonight. The blueliner has compiled 14 points (G, 13A), 28 penalty minutes, and a -8 plus/minus rating in 32 games with the Wolves this season but has not appeared in a game since Feb. 3. He is tied for sixth on the team in assists and is second on the Wolves in rookie scoring behind LINDBOHM.

The Bloomfield Hills, Mich., native is in his first full season as a professional after a four-year career at Michigan State University. He made a brief appearance in the pro ranks at the end of last season, posting one assist in four games for the Wolves and two points (G, A) in seven games with Toledo (ECHL).

The Wolves continue their seven-game homestand with a pair of games this weekend against the San Antonio Rampage. The 7 p.m. game Saturday is Faith and Fellowship Night, which features a postgame concert by David Dunn. To find the best deals on tickets, visit ChicagoWolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
