Chicago Wolves forward Cody Beach will appear at the Park Ridge Public Library on Wednesday, Feb. 25, to continue the 20th season of the “Read to Succeed” program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Inc.
The 22-year-old BEACH, who grew up in the Canadian province of British Columbia, will start his program at 4 p.m. at 20 S. Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge.
The “Read to Succeed” program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. BEACH will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in his life as a professional athlete.
Participants can win prizes — including Wolves knit hats, pennants, and tickets to upcoming games — for setting and achieving reading goals.
Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making appearances at select libraries throughout the Chicago area.
