Chicago Wolves defenseman Joel Edmundson will appear at the Bartlett Public Library on Tuesday, March 10, to cap the 20th season of the “Read to Succeed” program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Inc.
The 21-year-old EDMUNDSON, who grew up in Manitoba and is in his second professional season with the Wolves, will start his program at 7 p.m. at 800 S. Bartlett Road in Bartlett.
The “Read to Succeed” program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. EDMUNDSON will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in his life as a professional athlete.
Participants can win prizes — including Wolves knit hats, pennants, and tickets to upcoming games — for setting and achieving reading goals.
Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children have participated in the program as Wolves players made appearances at select libraries throughout the Chicago area.
