Storylines

  • With two games to go in the regular season, the Wolves still have a chance to be either the No. 6, 7 or 8 seed when the playoffs start next week. Their list of potential first-round opponents remains four-deep: Utica, Grand Rapids, San Antonio and Rockford.

  • Chicago clinches the No. 7 seed tonight with the following scenario: 1) Wolves defeat Milwaukee; 2) Oklahoma City beats Iowa; 3) Toronto regulation loss at Rockford. Otherwise the suspense shifts to Sunday.

  • A few seeds for the Western Conference’s half of the 2015 Calder Cup playoffs became clear on Friday night, but the Chicago Wolves’ 4-3 Illinois Lottery Cup loss at Rockford didn’t have anything to do with it.

  • Here’s what became official Friday night: San Antonio clinched the No. 3 seed and Texas wrapped up the No. 5 seed when the Stars topped the Rampage in San Antonio.

#9 Shane Harper
Right Wing

It’s been three games since Shane Harper last tallied a point, and that’s a rarity for the Wolves’ leading scorer.

The 26-year-old has only gone three-plus games without recording a goal or assist twice this season, with the last time being between Nov. 14-21. He leads center Pat Cannone by three points and forward Jeremy Welsh by 13 goals on the Wolves’ leaderboard. His 50 points is his professional career high, while his 32 goals are 10 more than his previous high.

Harper’s last few months have been a key factor in the Wolves’ late postseason push. Finishing these last two games with a goal or two wouldn’t hurt his mindset heading into the playoffs.

Viktor Arvidsson

#33 Viktor Arvidsson
Right Wing

Arvidsson has had great success against the Wolves this season, tallying two goals and four assists in his nine appearances against Chicago.

The rookie is leading the Admirals in assists (33) and points (54) this season. He’s also third in the league for rookies in points, tied for second in goals and fourth in assists. While his team is not in the playoff hunt anymore after a rough month of April, he hasn’t let off the gas, riding a three-point game streak with two goals and an assist.

Arvidsson and the Admirals are looking to play spoiler tonight as the Wolves continue to move up the standings in a battle for playoff positioning.
