Chicago makes the short trek to Rockford tonight to resume Illinois Lottery Cup action from the MetroCentre. The Wolves are winless (0-2-0-1) in the IceHogs’ building this season and have dropped five straight at the MetroCentre dating to last season. Rockford holds a 3-1-1 edge in the season series.

Chicago blanked Rockford, 2-0, Jan. 2 at the Allstate Arena in the last meeting between the teams. G JORDAN BINNINGTON stopped all 28 saves for his first shutout of the season, and the fourth of his AHL career (eighth-best in Wolves annals).

Rockford enters tonight’s contest in possession of first place in the Central Division Standings with the top winning percentage (.671) in the Western Conference. Chicago occupies sixth-place in the standings and plays solely Central Division opponents for its remaining 41 games.

By The Numbers

9: DANNY KRISTO’s shots on goal total (a team-best, season-high) from Saturday’s loss at Texas. RILEY BRACE finished with seven shots as Chicago peppered 50 shots on goaltender Philippe Desrosiers.

15: In each of the Wolves’ last 15 games, the team that scored the first goal went on to win the contest. In addition, the team that scored the first goal never trailed in those 15 games. The last Wolves game where both teams led was Dec. 4 at Grand Rapids.

225,150, 175: Three Wolves players reached playing milestones Jan. 9 in a 5-2 loss at Texas.JEREMY WELSH 175 appeared in his 225th AHL tilt while DANNY KRISTO skated in his 175th AHL contest and 150 SCOOTER VAUGHAN dressed for his 150th AHL game.
