WOLVES ADD NIGHTINGALE AND DANIELS

The Chicago Wolves announced Wednesday they have signed defensemen Drew Daniels and Jared Nightingale to Professional Tryout Contracts (PTO).

Nightingale, 33, has produced 7 assists and a +6 plus/minus rating in 35 games for the Toledo Walleye (ECHL). This marks the third time the Jackson, Mich., native has joined the Wolves. He appeared in five regular-season games late in the 2007-08 season that concluded with Chicago capturing the franchise’s fourth championship. He also signed with the team on Sunday and helped the Wolves earn a 4-3 overtime victory at Grand Rapids that snapped the Griffins’ team-record 14-game home winning streak.

Daniels, 26, has spent most of the 2015-16 season with the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL), where he has notched 4 goals, 15 assists and a +13 plus/minus rating in 25 games. The Suffern, N.Y., native made his Wolves debut during Sunday’s win at Grand Rapids. Earlier this season, he made his American Hockey League debut as he appeared in three games for the Utica Comets.

The Wolves continue their five-game road trip at 6 p.m. Friday against the Charlotte Checkers. The team returns to Allstate Arena on Saturday, Jan. 30, to face the Rockford IceHogs in an Illinois Lottery Cup game.
