The Chicago Wolves announced Friday that forward Justin Crandall, left wing Mike Embach and defenseman Nick Petrecki have signed professional tryout contracts (PTO) in advance of tonight’s Amtrak Rivalry game at Milwaukee.
Crandall, 23, has delivered 15 goals and 35 assists this season for the Reading Royals. The Lakeville, Minnesota, native leads all ECHL rookies in scoring. He turned pro late last season after amassing 40 goals and 39 assists in four seasons for the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Embach, a 28-year-old native of south suburban Orland Park, joins the Wolves after racking up 23 goals and 30 assists in 51 games for the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL). He ranks fifth in the ECHL in points (50) and tied for fourth in goals.
Petrecki, the San Jose Sharks’ first-round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, posted 2 goals and 5 assists in 17 games for the Indy Fuel (ECHL) this season. He also notched 6 assists in 14 games for the Elmira Jackals (ECHL) and no points in 3 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL).
