Chicago sets its sights on fifth place in the Central Division with a pair of games at Charlotte, starting with tonight’s game at Bojangles’ Coliseum.
Chicago trails Charlotte by 3 points for fifth place in the standings and the Checkers also have one game in hand.
At season’s end, the Central Division’s fifth-place team will claim a Calder Cup Playoffs spot if it has a better winning percentage than the Pacific Division’s fourth-place team. At present, fourth-place San Jose stands at .559 while Charlotte sits at .526.
The Wolves have won four of the five meetings in the season series, which includes a 3-2 shootout win on Feb. 21 at Allstate Arena in the last encounter between the teams.
This week’s games mark the last visit for Chicago to the Queen City. The Wolves posted a 4-3 shootout win and dropped a wild 6-5 affair during their previous trip to Charlotte on Jan. 22-23.
