Exclusive Raffle Experiences Highlight Epilepsy Awareness Night

GLENVIEW, Ill. — The Chicago Wolves are offering the chance to win unique experiences with Wayne Messmer, Wendell Young and Martin Brodeur as part of Epilepsy Awareness Night, presented by Heidenhain, on Saturday, Dec. 17. The Wolves also are giving commemorative T-shirts to the first 2,500 fans who enter Allstate Arena for the 7 p.m. game against the Cleveland Monsters.1617-epilepsyawareness-tshirtmock

The Wolves’ dedication to Epilepsy Awareness Night is inspired by the bond between Young, the team’s general manager, and his older son, Matthew, who was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2013 at the age of 22. Matthew has benefited significantly from the continual research that delivers medical advances and allows those with epilepsy to pursue complete lives.

“Over the last several years, I’ve met so many people with epilepsy,” Wendell Young said. “It has been clear the research, medications and awareness have made a huge difference in a positive way in their lives.”

To raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago as well as Chicago Wolves Charities, the team is raffling five exclusive prizes: A pregame Cubs experience with Wolves senior vice president Wayne Messmer; a luxury box experience with Young and Brodeur; a dinner with Young and his eight championship rings; a Rosemont Package that features tickets to see The Lumineers and Panic! at the Disco at Allstate Arena; and a Gift Cardpalooza. epilepsy-raffle-twitter

Raffle tickets are $10 apiece and can be directed toward a specific package. Anyone who buys five raffle tickets by Friday receives five additional tickets for free. Tickets can be purchased at ChicagoWolvesStore.com/charity. Wendell Young and Rick Korte, Heidenhain’s president, CEO and managing director, will draw the winning tickets during the second intermission on Saturday.

“The people at Heidenhain Corporation want to once again lend our support to the Chicago Wolves Epilepsy Awareness Night,” Korte said. “We believe this is such a worthy cause and are excited to see all the great raffle prizes being offered this year at this Dec. 17 event. We encourage all to come out on this night to not only enjoy a great game of Chicago hockey and have fun with the raffle, but at the same time make a difference with the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.”
