Nightingale Returns to Wolves

The Chicago Wolves announced Friday the club signed veteran defenseman Jared Nightingale to a professional tryout contract.

Nightingale is no stranger to the Wolves as he skated in 31 games last season for Chicago and tallied 6 points (2G, 4A), 68 penalty minutes and a -3 plus/minus rating. In 2007-08, the Jackson, Michigan, native appeared in five games with the Wolves.

The 34-year-old comes to the Wolves from the Toledo Walleye (ECHL) where he has a goal and two assists through 23 games. He also logged a -5 plus/minus rating and 42 penalty minutes.

Nightingale will be available when the Wolves face the reigning Calder Cup champion Cleveland Monsters at 7 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 17), and then their intra-state rival, the Rockford IceHogs, in Illinois Lottery Cup action at 4 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 18). Both contests take place at Allstate Arena.
