Barbashev Returns to Wolves

The Chicago Wolves announced Friday that center Ivan Barbashev has been returned on loan to the club by the St. Louis Blues (NHL).

The 21-year-old returns to the Wolves after making his National Hockey League debut Thursday night with the Blues in a 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild. Barbashev logged 10:03 of ice time through 14 shifts. He also registered one shot and was 25 percent in the faceoff circle.

This season with the Wolves, Barbashev has 19 goals and 18 assists for 37 points through 44 games. His goal total is second among Chicago skaters while his point total puts in him third in club scoring.

The Moscow native is eighth on the American Hockey League scoring leaderboard.

Barbashev will rejoin Chicago for the second game of a two-tilt set in Cleveland against the Monsters on Saturday (Jan. 28). Puck drop is set for 6 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on CW50.

Following the AHL All-Star break, the Wolves home to Allstate Arena for a set of games against Central Division foes. On Friday, Feb. 3, the division-leading Grand Rapids Griffins are in town for a 7 p.m. showdown that will be broadcast on The U Too.
