The Chicago Wolves opened their 2017 training camp Sunday at Triphahn Community Center & Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates. The week-long event includes intrasquad scrimmages and two preseason contests against Central Division rivals, Milwaukee and Rockford.
Beginning Monday, Sept. 25, camp invitees will be split into two groups for on- and off-ice practices and workouts. Monday’s session opens at 10 a.m with a scrimmage slated for 10:30 that is open to the public.
The current training camp roster is comprised of 25 players including Bryce Gervais, Stephen MacAulay, Kenney Morrison and Dmitry Osipov – all of whom were recent participants in the Vegas Golden Knights’ inaugural training camp.
The Wolves open preseason game action on Friday, Sept. 29, as they host their in-state nemesis, the Rockford IceHogs, at Triphahn Community Center & Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates. Preseason play concludes on Saturday, Sept. 30, when the Wolves travel to UWM Panther Arena to face the Milwaukee Admirals.
The Wolves begin the 82nd American Hockey League regular season on the road with a pair of games against the Texas Stars in Cedar Park, Texas. The puck drops on the 2017-18 campaign at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6. The Wolves and Stars clash again on Saturday, Oct. 7.
Chicago returns to Allstate Arena for its home opener on Saturday, Oct. 14, against the Ontario Reign.
