Seven Players Added to Wolves Training Camp

The Chicago Wolves announced Tuesday that seven players – including forwards T.J. Tynan and Tyler Wong – have joined the club’s 2017 training camp from the Vegas Golden Knights training camp.

Tynan and Wong are joined by fellow forwards Keegan Kolesar and Paul Thompson, goaltenders Oscar Dansk and Maxime Lagace and defenseman Jake Bischoff.

Wong, the Western Hockey League’s top goal-scorer during the 2016-17 campaign, signed with the Wolves on May 18 and the undrafted 21-year-old was invited to Vegas’ inaugural prospect, rookie and training camps.

The Alberta native posted three goals and an assist in his National Hockey League preseason debut against the Vancouver Canucks on Sept. 17. His four points helped the Golden Knights to the franchise’s first preseason victory.

Thompson and Tynan cleared waivers as of 11 a.m. CT and will skate with the rest of the team beginning Wednesday. Their arrivals bring Chicago’s training camp roster to 19 forwards, eight defensemen and five goaltenders.

The forwards: Terry Broadhurst, Mike Brown, Travis Ewanyk, Nelson Gadoury, Bryce Gervais, Keigan Goetz, Tyler Heinonen, Ivan Hodulov, Keegan Kolesar, Justin Kovacs, Stephen MacAulay, Josh MacDonald, Brett Sterling, Paul Thompson, Brock Trotter, T.J. Tynan, Scooter Vaughan, Sam Warning and Tyler Wong.

The defensemen: Jake Bischoff, Chris Casto, Daniel Johnston, Chris Joyaux, Curtis Leonard, Josh Monk, Kenney Morrison and Dmitry Osipov.

The goaltenders: Oscar Dansk, Kris Joyce, Maxime Lagace, C.J. Motte and Alex Sakellaropoulos.

The week-long camp that began on Sunday concludes with two preseason games against Central Division opponents. On Friday, Sept. 29, the Wolves host their in-state nemesis, the Rockford IceHogs, at Triphahn Community Center & Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates. Tickets are $8 for the 7 p.m. game at the Wolves’ practice facility and are available in advance or at the door. Call 847-885-7500 for tickets.

Preseason play concludes on Saturday, Sept. 30, when the Wolves travel to UWM Panther Arena to face the Milwaukee Admirals.
