Bennett and Lindbohm Join Wolves

The Chicago Wolves announced Friday that forward Beau Bennett and defenseman Petteri Lindbohm have been added to the team’s training camp roster.

Both players were placed on waivers by the St. Louis Blues Wednesday afternoon.

The 23-year-old Lindbohm is a familiar face as he has spent his entire American Hockey League career – three seasons – in a Wolves uniform. The Finland native was selected by the Blues in the sixth round, 176th overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft.

At the AHL level, Lindbohm has skated in 148 regular-season games and collected 45 points (17G, 28A). In two Calder Cup Playoff runs with Chicago, Lindbohm has appeared in nine games and collected five points (G, 4A).

Bennett, who inked a one-year deal with the Blues on July 1, joins the AHL ranks for the first time since the 2014-15 season. A member of the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016, Bennett skated in 65 NHL games for the New Jersey Devils during the 2016-17 campaign and registered 19 points (8G, 11A).

These additions bring the Wolves training camp roster to 21 forwards, nine defenseman and five goaltenders.

The Wolves’ week-long training camp begins to wind down Friday, Sept. 29, with the first of two preseason games against Central Division foes. Chicago hosts its in-state nemesis, the Rockford IceHogs, at Triphahn Community Center & Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates. Tickets are $8 for the 7 p.m. game at the Wolves’ practice facility and are available in advance or at the door. Call 847-885-7500 for tickets.

Preseason play concludes on Saturday, Sept. 30, when the Wolves travel to UWM Panther Arena to face the Milwaukee Admirals.
