Lindback, Admirals Hand Wolves First Shutout Loss

The Milwaukee Admirals netted three first-period goals en route to a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Wolves in Wednesday’s school-day game at UWM Panther Arena.

The Admirals struck first when Petter Granberg redirected the puck over the shoulder of Kasimir Kaskisuo (2-3-0) for a 1-0 lead at 8:08 of the opening frame.

Milwaukee doubled its lead just 2:43 later when rookie defenseman Frederic Allard snapped a shot from the top of the right circle for his first professional goal.

At 16:50 of the period while on the power play, forward Bobby Butler floated to the net and knocked the puck in to push the Admirals lead to 3-0.

Chicago’s best scoring chance came with 1:31 left in the game when defenseman Jason Garrison blasted a shot from the point. However, the goal was waved off as Paul Thompson tipped it in with a high stick.

Lindback (7-2-0) made 29 saves for the shutout while Kaskisuo stopped 34 shots in the loss.

The Wolves are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 11, when they face the San Antonio Rampage — led by 2016-17 Wolves captain Chris Butler and top rookie goal-scorer Samuel Blais — for the first time this season at Allstate Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on CW50 in the Chicago area.
