Matteau Returns, Morrison Departs Wolves

The Chicago Wolves announced Wednesday that forward Stefan Matteau has been returned on loan to the club by the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL) while defenseman Kenney Morrison has been loaned to the Quad City Mallards (ECHL).

Matteau made his 2017-18 NHL debut on Nov. 28 and appeared in four more games for the Golden Knights. The 23-year-old registered one assist and averaged about eight minutes in time on ice per game.

Prior to being recalled by Vegas, Matteau skated in 19 games for the Wolves and picked up five points — including four goals.

Morrison — signed by the Wolves on July 27 — has appeared in 10 American Hockey League games for the Wolves and collected three assists.

The Wolves travel to Van Andel Arena on Friday, Dec. 15, to face the Grand Rapids Griffins in the final game of a four-game road trip. Puck drop is 6 p.m. and the game will be televised on The U Too.
