The Chicago Wolves announced Monday that they’ve signed center Brett McKenzie and defenseman Olivier Galipeau to Player Tryout Contracts (PTO).
McKenzie, 22, spent training camp with the Wolves and earned one assist in two exhibition games. The Vancouver Canucks’ seventh-round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft spent the 2018-19 season with the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators (16 goals, 29 assists in 62 games) and the AHL’s Providence Bruins (5 games).
The 22-year-old Galipeau also split his first professional season between Atlanta and Providence. He posted six goals and 17 assists in 56 games with the Gladiators along with one assist in five games for the Bruins.
The Wolves start a three-game road trip in San Antonio on Friday, Oct. 11, before returning to Allstate Arena on Saturday, Oct. 19, to face the Rockford IceHogs in an Illinois Lottery Cup game.
