Wolves get Geekie

The Chicago Wolves announced Thursday that center Morgan Geekie has been loaned to the team by the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL).

Geekie has appeared in nine games for Carolina this season and posted four penalty minutes. The 22-year-old Strathclair, Manitoba, native made his NHL debut on March 8, 2020, and produced two goals and one assist in a 6-2 win at Pittsburgh. He played in eight 2020 Stanley Cup Playoff games and notched one assist.

Geekie spent most of the last two seasons with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers and delivered 41 goals with 47 assists in 128 regular-season games. He added one goal and two assists when the Checkers faced the Wolves in the 2019 Calder Cup Finals.
