The Chicago Wolves’ Read To Succeed program, presented by JULIE, Inc., continues to thrive as it partners with libraries and schools throughout the Chicago area. More than 500,000 kids benefited from Read To Succeed during its first 23 years.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wolves are unable to schedule players for their traditional appearances at libraries and schools right now. However, our mascot Skates has stepped up with his new Storytime with Skates initiative! Skates and a member of the Wolves staff have set aside Tuesday afternoons for joining virtual classrooms or library alcoves to read books.
Choose one of Skates’ favorite books — “Z is for Zamboni,” “That’s Not Hockey” or “The Magic Hockey Stick” — and it will be read to your group to encourage reading and the enjoyment of positive themes. Skates is available at 1 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday through June 29. Story times are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All visits are conducted via Zoom or Google Meet and are limited to 100 people.
We look forward to reading with you! By continuing through June, Skates can join more libraries and summer reading programs. Please fill out the form below and a Community Relations Representative will be in touch to discuss details.
