On Saturday, Jan. 9 and Sunday, Jan. 10 at Allstate Arena, the Wolves face the Rockford IceHogs and Iowa Wild, respectively. Wolves players will don specially designed “Mental Health Awareness” jerseys, presented by Campfire Marshmallows, that will then be auctioned to raise money for Chicago Wolves Charities, Driven by Kia, Erika’s Lighthouse, Paws for Patrick, National Alliance for Mental Illness and more mental health related charities!
The Wolves are committed to shining a spotlight on Mental Health Awareness. The organization is proud to help those struggling with mental health issues and other related causes through a series of initiatives and partnerships with charities to benefit those in need.
Taking home a Mental Health Awareness jersey isn’t the only way Wolves fans can show their support. Also available for donations are Mental Health Awareness Mystery Pucks as well and Stronger Together Mystery Pucks.
Together, we can make a difference.
ABOUT THE JERSEY
Mental Health Awareness Crest:
The butterfly represents transformation, resilience and hope. Often associated with change and new beginnings, it reflects the ongoing nature of mental health. The challenges we experience, the ways we grow through them and the possibility of change ahead. The butterfly serves as a reminder that growth is a process, and that no one is defined by a single moment or struggle.
Behind the butterfly, the crest features seven colors representing mental health conditions and causes:
- Blue – Depression
- Teal – PTSD
- Orange – ADHD
- Purple – Suicide Prevention
- Black & White – Bipolar Disorder
- Periwinkle – Eating Disorders
- Red – Addiction
Stronger Together Patch:
The three wolves represent the strength found in community and connection. Mental health challenges can often feel isolating, but no one has to face them alone. Whether through friends, family, teammates, professionals or the broader community, having others beside us can make a meaningful difference.
Behind the wolves, the rising sun represents hope and the promise of a new day. It is a reminder that even after our most difficult moments, there is always the possibility of something brighter ahead.
The Semicolon:
In mental health and suicide prevention, the semicolon represents continuation. In writing, a semicolon is used where a sentence could have ended, but instead continues.
That idea has become a symbol of hope and solidarity for those affected by mental illness, and serves as a reminder that difficult moments do not have to be the end of someone’s story.
