Growing up in Plano, Texas, and the son of a standout National Hockey League player, Wolves forward Justin Robidas fondly recalls hanging out with his father, Stephane, in the Dallas Stars’ dressing room.
“I remember as a kid going to the arena with my dad and going around the locker room,” Justin said. “For me, it was normal to see professional hockey players on a daily basis. As I grow older, I realize how lucky I was and I think a lot of kids would like to be there and see what it’s like and hopefully have dreams and aspire to be there one day themselves.”
“I was very fortunate to grow up in a hockey household and we didn’t have to have the struggle that many families do,” Justin continued. ”This is an opportunity to try and help families by bringing them to games and show them the locker room and be able to enjoy the things I enjoyed. Hopefully, we can put a little spark in their day.”
To that end, Robidas and the Wolves are proud to introduce “Robidas’ Rising Stars,” a program that, at each home game, will enable one family or individual from an underserved community to experience VIP treatment at a Chicago Wolves game. The behind-the-scenes experience includes tickets to the game and an exclusive meet-and-greet with Wolves star Justin Robidas.
