Fight Against Cancer Jersey Auction and Raffle

A heartfelt thank you to Chicago Wolves fans for your ongoing support of our community initiatives, especially our Fight Against Cancer campaign!

Chicago Wolves players wore exclusive Fight Against Cancer jerseys, presented by Campfire Marshmallows, when they hosted the Texas Stars and Manitoba Moose on Saturday, Jan. 10 and Sunday, Jan. 11, respectively.

These commemorative jerseys were available to own through a variety of initiatives with proceeds benefiting A Silver Lining Foundation, Bear Necessities, Imerman Angels and Chicago Wolves Charities, driven by Kia.

“It’s super important,” Wolves forward Justin Robidas said. “There are a lot of people who are affected by cancer. I’ve had people in my family affected by cancer. It’s a tough battle for them and their families. If there’s anything we can do to support them and their family it’s important to help them out.”

Wolves players Domenick Fensore, Ryan Suzuki, Josiah Slavin, Amir Miftakhov, Juha Jaaska, Nikita Quapp as well as mascot, Skates, had two game-issued jerseys for the games. Wearing multiple jerseys enabled the Wolves and their fans to maximize their support of these important charities and their invaluable work.

Darren and his wife, Sara, along with their children, Liam (12), Quinn (10) and Owen (7).

The Wolves’ Fight against Cancer Jersey Auction held on Jan. 10-11 had special meaning for one of the organization’s all-time great players. During the Wolves’ run to the 2008 Calder Cup championship, forward Darren Haydar’s then-fiancée and now wife, Sara, was diagnosed with throat cancer at the age of 24.

To honor Sara’s courageous battle—and we’re happy to report she is now cancer-free and the mother of three boys—the Wolves offered a commemorative No. 20 Darren Haydar jersey as part of a Silent Auction with proceeds benefiting A Silver Lining Foundation, Bear Necessities, Imerman Angels as well as Chicago Wolves Charities, driven by Kia.
