The Wolves opened their 2026-27 American Hockey League season by falling to the Manitoba Moose 3-0 on Saturday in Winnipeg.
In their 33rd season opener, the Wolves were unable to solve Moose goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis, who made 36 saves to record the shutout.
The defending Western Conference champion Wolves will look for their first victory of the season when the teams meet Sunday in the second of back-to-back games in Manitoba.
The Moose opened the scoring midway through the first period when Noah Gregor found the back of the net while on the power play.
The Wolves out shot the Moose 21-6 in the second as Chicago controlled the pace but wasn’t able to solve DiVincentiis.
In the third, Manitoba’s Colby Barlow tallied on the power play and Kevin He scored into the empty net for the final margin.
Zach Sawchenko (30 saves) played well but took the loss in goal for the Wolves while DiVincentiis earned the win for the Moose.
Up next: The Wolves travel to Manitoba to face the Moose on Sunday (2 p.m.).
